How To : Name Files For Web

When naming files to be uploaded to the web, there are a couple of best practices to keep in mind.

When uploading a file to a website, you should not include spaces in the file name, as they can be replaced by various characters (e.g. %20) which can make it harder to read and type a URL or file path. Instead, it is best practice on the web to use hyphens or underscores in their place.

Keep in mind that special characters are, generally, also not allowed in file names on the web. It is always best practice to stick to alphanumeric characters.
